In response to the 8/18/24 Storm:
FEMA Disaster Declaration Assistance for Homeowners. A Federal Emergency Declaration has been approved by President Biden.
FEMA assistance may be available for residents who sustained damage to their homes and personal property from the August 18th flooding.
From: The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DESPP/DEMHS).
"The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DESPP/DEMHS) is undertaking the initial damage assessment survey from the heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding that occurred between the dates of August 18th and August 19th.
It is crucial that we promptly assess the extent of the damages and gather the necessary information to determine if thresholds and criteria are met to be considered under the FEMA Individual Assistance program and/or Small Business Administration (SBA) programs.
To streamline the data collection process and ensure accurate and efficient reporting, we have created a dedicated public self-reporting link for the public to report damages to homes and businesses.
It is of utmost importance that we act swiftly and collaboratively to gather accurate data on the damages suffered by your city or town. While there is no guarantee we will meet thresholds for federal assistance, we need to collectively do our part to make sure we capture all damages to determine eligibility under FEMA and other federal programs."
