A rite of Summer for us is a trip out to the quaint little town of Sharon and the amazing talent we find every year at the Sharon Playhouse. We’ve missed bearing witness to their fabulous productions!
We’ll be visiting in time for their production of STEEL MAGNOLIAS!
A perennial favorite! STEEL MAGNOLIAS is a beautiful homage to women and female friendships. The play, concerned with a group of southern women in a small-town beauty parlor, is alternately hilarious and touching -- and, in the end, revealing of the strength of community and the purposefulness which underlies the witty banter of its characters when dealing with family, illness and deep personal loss.
We will stop at a local area restaurant for a delicious lunch (cost on your own). Cannot have our bellies growling during the performance!
