Since its 1943 founding in Sweden, IKEA has offered a wide range of home furnishings and accessories of good design and function, at low prices so that a majority of people can afford them. The monstrous store consists of a showroom, market hall and restaurant.
The showroom is a huge home furnishing exhibition—stretch out on a bed or see how many people you can fit on a sofa! The market hall is just what it sounds like, many different specialty shops gathered together—you’ll find everything from rugs to linens to picture frames and clocks, along with everything you need for your kitchen.
In the restaurant, you'll find healthy Swedish and local dishes at affordable prices. Swedish meatballs, anyone? Don’t forget to grab a $1.00 ice cream cone on your way out!
We’re heading to the IKEA in New Haven where we’ll enjoy a one-stop shop for everything, including lunch and dessert!
Wear your comfortable shoes—it’s quite an expansive store—maps are even provided!
